The purpose of our childcare outreach is to minister to the needs of the young children of Aldersgate and the community in a Christian environment conducive to education, growth, and to reinforce the teachings of the home through Christian values.
Aldersgate Academy is a faith-based weekday program for children from birth through 5 years dedicated to providing quality care and teaching. Lunch is brought from home each day and offered at 11:30 a.m. A nap time/ rest period follows lunch each day. Outdoor play takes place daily as weather permits, and our policy is: If it is not raining, it is a good day to play outside.
Enrollment options include two days a week (Tuesday and Thursday), three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and five days a week (Monday through Friday).
Our Academy classes for 3- and 4- year olds meet the Texas Education Agency guidelines for Pre-K in the public schools. The children work and play with a variety of units while exploring and learning letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. In addition, we offer chapel and movement classes.
Three-year-old classes utilize the L.E.A.P. (Language Enrichment Activities Program) curriculum. L.E.A.P. puts a strong emphasis on developing fine motor skills for future handwriting and on developing and building a large vocabulary.
Four-year-old classes utilize Frog Street Press curriculum. Frog Street has a strong emphasis on vocabulary and social skills enrichment.
