Youth: Fall Events

Youth: Fall Events
Hello everyone! My name is Claire and I am a youth intern for The Gate. This fall, we kicked off the new school year with
redecorating and painting the youth room. All students participated and decorated a section of the room by putting their handprints and some fun quotes or pictures on the wall. The goal was to update the room, but also to make it our own. The students succeeded, and we all had a blast!
On 9/9 the youth group started back with normally scheduled Sunday night events by participating in worship, playing a few games and sharing a meal together. The students had a lot of fun together in this time of fellowship. This is one of our favorite times of the year as we are back to regularly scheduled events. This is the time when relationships truly begin to form through these times together.
Tonight, the youth will assist in setting up for the upcoming Rummage Sale by setting up tables and racks for clothing. On October 28, we will participate in the Annual Trunk or Treat. During the first two weeks of November we will be working on our One Less Coat Drive. On November 4, we will spend time shopping for winter coats for students of Bowie Elementary. The next week, November 11, we will package,
organize and prepare the coats for distribution.
I am so excited about this semester and the amazing things that are happening in this ministry. We have been averaging around 30 students so far this semester. This is       incredible! I am so proud of all the work that these students have been doing and excited about the work that God is doing in them and through them. I look forward to walking alongside them in this semester and their spiritual growth. –Claire Payne
